Citrusy and aromatic, Nettle Meadow’s Meyer Lemon & Cardamom Fromage Frais just might be the perfect summer cheese. Meyer lemons are the main attraction in this fresh, slightly sweet goat cheese spread, with slightly peppery, floral cardamom as the supporting player. This creamy seasonal selection makes a great choice for your picnic basket as a tangy complement to Rustic Bakery’s Meyer Lemon Shortbread.

This cheese is made exclusively with Nubian goat milk, a breed known for its rich, high butterfat milk.
Fromage frais means “fresh cheese” in French—the traditional version is lower in fat than cream cheese, but with a similar texture and mild flavor.
For this version, Nettle Meadow uses 100% goat’s milk for a bit of lemony tang that’s tempered by a bit of sweetness.
Meyer lemons are a hybrid citrus—a cross between a lemon and a mandarin orange. As a result, they are less acidic and sweeter and have a shorter season (generally from winter to spring) than regular lemons.
This cheese goes beyond the board—we love it spread over pound cake with a dollop of Kuze Fuku & Sons Marionberry Jam.
